 Reality Television Star Danced at Local Business in West Chicago!

Katie Martin, CW’s reality television star from Breaking Pointe not only visited, but taught a Master Ballet Class at Platinum Dance Academy in West Chicago on Tuesday, July 24. Breaking Pointe follows the trials and tribulations of professional ballerinas of one of the top ballet schools in the country, Ballet West in New York City. Katie Martin, a dancer with Ballet West, accepted the invitation from two students of Platinum Dance Academy’s Competition Team, Libby Beaman and Lauren Anderson, to teach a ballet class at Platinum Dance.
Students were star struck and in awe over Katie’s dance technique, as well as her sweet personality. After the hour and a half lesson, Katie sat on the dance floor with the students for at least an hour, talked and answered any questions they had, which consisted of everything from her biography to dating and even where she buys her dance clothes.
Katie autographed pictures she had brought, autographed dancer’s ballet shoes, and even the arms of some of the dancers. Platinum Dance Academy, which just opened last November, was honored to have Katie Martin in their studio and feel so fortunate that their students were able to experience dance instruction from a professional ballerina from Ballet West.
