Illinois Partners for Human Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Sabathne to the board of directors. Illinois Partners for Human Service is Illinois’ largest state-wide coalition of over 800 partners, located in every legislative district across the state. In this work, Illinois Partners works to: develop a collaborative and coordinated approach for creating a more rational system for providing human services; improve the quality of service by developing common agreement around best operating practices of efficiency and effectiveness; and improve support for human services generally by highlighting their value to communities. Mr. Sabathne is President and CEO of the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce and brings over twenty years of business and not-for-profit organizational management experience. In addition, Mr. Sabathne’s experience as an elected and appointed public official and background serving on charitable boards and foundations provides valuable insight that will serve Illinois Partners.
“Every area of human services provides a measurable benefit to the Illinois Economy,” said Mr. Sabathne. “Illinois Partners collaborates with human service organizations to help create efficiencies, accountability, identify new threats, and work towards the most effective solutions. Together their work helps to improve the delivery of these services so that the greatest number of needs are met.”
Mr. Sabathne said that he is often asked why a business or business association should be interested in human services. His answer: “No person can be at their best when uncertain about the care being provided to someone they love; or worse, when no care is being provided at all. This adds to absenteeism, presenteeism, low production and even health problems caused by the stress and worry.”
