The City of West Chicago has announced that the 2019 State of the City Address will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 475 Main Street. The Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the event and provide refreshments and a networking opportunity prior to its start at 5:30 p.m.
The State of the City provides residents and businesses an opportunity to learn more about the past year and what is being planned for the future of West Chicago. Mayor Ruben Pineda will deliver the Address and share information on topics most important to citizens. The theme, Metamorphosis…the transformation begins, was inspired by the wondrous process of inevitable change that takes place in nature. The Monarch butterfly begins its life almost unnoticed with a tiny egg which undergoes a series of changes resulting in something new and different.
So too, a remarkable transformation has begun in West Chicago through the significant developments at the DuPage Business Center and elsewhere in the community, and the exciting prospect of the Central Main Street Redevelopment Plan which represents the largest single physical transformation to downtown West Chicago in its history.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend and learn more about the projects and plans that will significantly impact West Chicago’s future. This is a free public event, and seating is provided on a first come first serve basis.
