U.S. CHAMBER PARTNERS WITH WHITE HOUSE TO FURTHER SUPPORT AMERICA'S BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced it is partnering with the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and community and industry organizations across the country to expand and enhance efforts to support businesses in the fight against COVID-19.

The White House selected the U.S. Chamber as a founding member of the new COVID-19 Community Corps, a program to share the latest science-based information with leading community organizations to help inform Americans about the importance of vaccinations. As a founding member, the U.S. Chamber will participate in weekly updates with federal officials and continue to disseminate critical information, factsheets, tools, and other resources to employers.

"Business has answered our nation's call since the earliest days of the pandemic, from manufacturing masks and ventilators to delivering safe and effective vaccines at record speed. As we look to the next stage of the recovery, employers know that our economy will return to strength only when

we return to health—and science and smart planning will get us there,” said U.S. Chamber President and CEO Suzanne Clark.

“The U.S. Chamber is fully committed to working with the White House to support the business community to continue to lead the fight against COVID-19,” Clark added. “In partnership with local and state chambers of commerce and industry associations, we will continue to arm every American business with the resources and information they need to accelerate vaccinations, protect workers, slow the spread, and reopen the economy safely.”

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley joined Vice President Kamala Harris and several community and industry leaders at a virtual COVID-19 Community Corps announcement event on Thursday.

Since the beginning of last year, the U.S. Chamber and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation have provided actionable insights, data-driven guidance, and vital resources to support businesses and business organizations during the pandemic.

Most recently, the U.S. Chamber launched The Rally for Recovery Commitment to unite and support employers across the country in protecting workers and defeating the pandemic. The U.S. Chamber has been proud to be joined in the Rally for Recovery Commitment by chambers of commerce, industry associations, small businesses, and large companies, including leaders such as American Airlines, Ford Motor Company, Google, HCA Healthcare, IBM Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Procter & Gamble, Tenet Healthcare, United Airlines, and Walmart.

In addition, the U.S. Chamber has launched digital resource centers to help companies navigate, for example, small business emergency assistance programsreopening procedures and state-specific health and safety measures, and vaccine-related questions. The Chamber’s Vaccine Resources Center features a Vaccine FAQs guide for employers, an interactive state map with vaccine phase information, and communications best practices for employers seeking to promote vaccines to their employees and customers.

To date, the Chamber's guides, resources, and other COVID 19-related content has been viewed more than 15 million times. Meanwhile, the numerous new virtual event series hosted by the Chamber and Chamber Foundation have reached millions of people, helping businesses of all sizes protect their workers and customers while adapting to unprecedented economic and health challenges.
