ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING VACCINE ACCESS FOR COMMUNITY WITH A VACCINATION CLINIC

ECC has joined in the effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 as a participating college in the White House and U.S. Department of Education COVID-19 College Vaccination Challenge. As part of this pledge, ECC is helping to increase ease and access to vaccines through its upcoming vaccination clinics to be held on July 21 and Aug. 11 (second shot clinic). The clinics are held in partnership with the Kane County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health. The clinic is open to all students, employees, and community members, regardless of insurance or immigration status.

The first clinic on July 21 will offer the Pfizer (for ages 12 and older) and limited Johnson & Johnson (for ages 18 and older) vaccines. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18.

The second vaccine clinic on Aug. 11. for the second Pfizer dose, along with limited Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Both clinics will be in the Jobe Lounge in Building B from 2-7 p.m.

Individuals should register online for either clinic at bit.ly/3edxNTr. Walk-ins will be accepted, but registration is recommended to ensure a slot. The first 100 registrants will receive a free ECC swag bag at the clinic.

To encourage unvaccinated individuals to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by getting vaccinated, all clinic participants will have the chance to enter a raffle to win a free ECC class. Up to five waivers for a free class will be awarded. The drawing is one entry per person, non-transferable, and valid for the fall 2021 semester, spring 2022 semester, and summer 2022 semester. Winners will be notified by phone or email and must provide proof of vaccination.

In addition to the free class raffle, all participants have a chance to win a $25 gift card to the ECC Café. Up to 25 cards will be awarded.
