July 26, 2021 (Warrenville, Ill.) – Caravel Autism Health celebrated the grand opening last week of a new autism therapy center serving families across DuPage County. The Caravel team partnered with the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new center, which is located at 3S721 West Avenue, Suite 100, in Warrenville.
The event was designed to introduce Caravel’s newest center in Illinois and to showcase the comprehensive range of services that Caravel offers to families. These services include evaluation, diagnosis, ABA therapy, and family support. ABA therapy is evidence-based treatment that uses positive reinforcement to help children with autism develop skills, create connections, and gain confidence.
Guests were invited to tour the center’s colorful, sensory-friendly spaces, which are especially designed to meet the needs of children who are on the autism spectrum. The new center is led by clinic director Brenda Boehm, BCBA and her team of expert clinicians who work with children ages 2 to 18. As Boehm explained, “The therapy we provide is research-based. It helps kids develop important life skills so that they can be more independent. We’re thrilled to be able to offer center-based services and to help change lives.”
According to Mike Miller, CEO of Caravel Autism Health, the need for clinical expertise and services is great, but there is a shortage of resources in many communities: “At Caravel, we want to ensure that children who are on the spectrum have access to the best possible care. By bringing a new autism therapy center to DuPage County, we are expanding local availability and access to high-quality autism services. Greater access translates into better outcomes for these children and their families.”
