WCCHS ESL STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY FEATURED AT GALLERY 200 IN APRIL

West Chicago Community High School ESL students will be displaying their expressive photography at Gallery 200 during the month of April. The exhibit is called “The Journey Home”.

The Journey Home project is explained as follows:  The word “home” means so many things to us. Home is the country in which you were born, or the apartment in which you live. Home is the farmhouse that your ancestors have owned for generations, or the lakeside cabin that you’ve rented for a summer vacation. Home is a warm embrace after a turbulent flight, or the laughter through tears that meets you a grandma’s front door after being gone far too long. Home is that nostalgic ache for people and places left behind, or it’s an intangible hope for something not yet experienced. In some ways we are always searching for home, and sometimes straying further and further from home to find it. This photo exhibit is about young adults who have left homes behind in search of new ones. It’s about the wistful memories of what once was and the hope-filled dreams of what may someday be. It is about the journey home.
