West Chicago and area gardeners are counting down the days until this year’s annual Blooming Fest, which is quickly approaching on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
The event has grown in reputation among serious gardeners and weekend warriors alike because of the exciting lineup of garden vendors and experts that it offers, with the West Chicago Garden Club’s Plant Sale at the heart of that list. This year, Ball Horticultural Company, with headquarters in West Chicago, will return to the festival to provide education about new flowers and vegetables from all of its breeding companies. An internationally renowned breeder, producer and wholesale distributor of ornamental plants since 1905, Ball has worldwide production, sales and marketing through its many subsidiaries on six continents. Gardeners know and love their popular plant brands Wave ® Petunias and the Burpee plant program, and recognize many of their flowers in public garden spaces. Visitors will want to stop by the “Wave Van” which will be located on Main Street to ask questions of Ball staff and share stories about their gardens.
