During her time in D33, she focused on developing the K-8 curricular program. She led D33 teams in the development of an inclusive educational model that includes the expansion and improvement in dual language education, special education, gifted and talented education, full-day kindergarten and middle school block scheduling. As the interim superintendent for the past five months she spent time listening and learning from the community through focus group interviews. Based on what she learned was important to key stakeholders she has prioritized increasing building safety, improving two-way communication with parents, developing strong grade level teams, and evaluating and improving some of the district’s programs.
Davis lives in Naperville with her husband Pete. She has two grown children, Joshua (22) and Alexandra (24).
Brenda Vishanoff, Board President, stated, “Kristina Davis brings a strong commitment to the parents and community of West Chicago to create systems of equity and opportunity for all students. Over the past five months, It has been a pleasure to meet with students, families and staff to hear about the sources of pride in our community and ways we can continue to improve learning opportunities for all students. As we move forward, I will continue to listen and learn from our students, staff and families to set out a course for the future. It is an honor to be chosen to work with such committed staff and to be a part of such a special community.”
