CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY COME TO LIFE AT WEST CHICAGO



Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues their 23-24 theatrical season with the classic story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  This spectacle is based on the novel by Roald Dahl.  It tells the story of Charlie Bucket as he journeys to visit the famed Wonka Chocolate Factory.  Along the way, Charlie meets wonderful characters like Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Mike Teevee, and Willy Wonka.  This production is filled with silly fun.  The Wego Drama season theme of “Once More With Feeling” is perfect for this show; whether you’ve read the book, seen the movie, or are brand new to the story- you are guaranteed to laugh on this family-friendly evening.

Senior Alex Bradley, states, “I love the show.  It is just non-stop silliness.”  Additionally, Senior Ryley Salazar adds, “I’ve found myself just feeling like a little kid again.”  Finally, Senior Francis Moffatt states, “This play is a large undertaking.  I know everyone is going to just have a joyful evening at this show.”

The production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is performed without an intermission.  It includes lighting effects and cartoon antics. It features a special performance by the A Capella Chamber Choir under the direction of

       Danais Gomez-Garcia, Michael Angeles, Francis Moffatt, and Kylie Carter

Brandon Fantozzi.  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is adapted by Richard George from the book by Roald Dahl.  It is produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing, Woodstock, IL.

The play is directed by Mark Begovich. Technical Direction is by Christopher Jensen.  Costumes are by Kim Maslo. Hair and make-up is by Sam Rebmann.

General admission seating tickets are now on-sale at www.wegotheatre.com.  Tickets will also be available at the door.  The price is $5 for students and $8 for adults.  Performances are on November 3rd and 4th at 7pm.  All performances are at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago IL 60185.
