The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is comprised of 26,000 acres of high quality habitats where people can connect with nature, be present in the moment, and – in moments when you want to look away from your screens – Unplug to Recharge. Capture the scenic beauty of the forest preserves for the chance to win prizes! Enter your photos by Sept. 7, 2026.

Juried Categories

A qualified panel of Forest Preserve District of DuPage County employees will rate and select winners from all eligible entries in the following categories.

• Wildlife & Plants (one winner)
• People & Recreation (one winner)
• Landscapes & Places (one winner)

• Photos must be taken in a DuPage forest preserve.
• There is no limit to the number of entries.
• You may submit the same photograph to multiple juried categories, but you must select the appropriate category from the drop-down menu each time you upload it.

Juried winners may choose one prize package from the following categories: Camera, Technology, or Framed Print. Each package has an approximate retail value of $150. For the list of items included in each package, view the contest's official rules.

Voters' Choice

The “Voters’ Choice” winner will be the person who submits the photo that receives the most online votes and is not selected as a “Wildlife & Plants,” “People & Recreation,” or “Landscapes & Places” winner. 

 

The Voters' Choice Winner will receive a Kodak Printomatic camera, carrying case, and Zink 20 pack of photo paper (approximate retail value $85).

Random Drawings

Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will randomly select one email address from all eligible entries on July 1, Aug. 5, and Sept. 2 to receive a Kodak disposable camera and a $25 FPDDC gift card. Gift cards can be used for programs, permits, equipment rentals (like boats and snowshoes), and merchandise.
