School Board Vacancy Application Deadline Extended

Community High School District 94 is seeking applications from community members interested in serving on its Board of Education due to a vacancy created by the resignation of Ms. Lauren Scanlan. The application deadline has been extended until Friday, September 11, 2020.

Individuals living within District 94 boundaries are invited to apply to serve on the board. The person selected will serve until April 2021, when the remaining two years of the term (until April 2023) will be filled via election.

Applicants must meet the following statutory criteria to be a board member:

• Be a United States citizen
• Be at least 18 years of age on the day of appointment
• Be a resident of Illinois and District 94 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
• Be a registered voter
• Not be a child sex offender
• Not hold another incompatible public office
• Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District
• Not be a school trustee.

Those interested in applying should send an application to the attention of the Board President, Community High School District 94 via email to cglunt@d94.org, or by mail to 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago IL 60185 to be received no later than Friday September 11, 2020.

Applications should include:

• A cover letter no more than 1 page in length indicating
  • The reason for your interest in serving on the Board of Education
  • What you believe to be the strengths of and challenges facing District 94
• A resume outlining professional, educational, and personal qualifications. The resume should also include any school related involvement, if applicable
• A list of three personal and/or professional references, with contact information
• Contact information including home address, telephone number, and email address.
  

Please note that applications are subject to disclosure under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The successful applicant must file a Statement of Economic Interests with the DuPage County Clerk following his/her appointment.
