The City of West Chicago is pleased to announce the return of its spectacular fireworks display on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. The fireworks show, which may be viewed at The Shell, is the grand finale of a day-long celebration at Reed-Keppler Park which starts at 1:00 p.m.
The West Chicago Park District’s Taco & Art Fest is sponsored in part by the City and Republic Bank, and is a welcome return of community special events, which will include art, music and food trucks through 8:00 p.m. followed by everyone’s favorite – fireworks, provided by the City, at 9:00 p.m.
“It’s been a long road to get to this point,” said Mayor Ruben Pineda, referring to the return of community special events after a more than yearlong pause due to the pandemic. “But the community’s diligence in following public health guidelines and recommendations has seen us through. I am very grateful for that, now it’s time to celebrate a safe return to community life as we know and love it in West Chicago.”
